Russian Armored Trains - Early 20th Century / World War I / Russian Revolution
With a massive amount of land to cover, the Russian Army used numerous armored trains - sometimes known as Zaamurets. These self-propelled cars could operate independently or be used to pull additional cars. The Zaamurets shown in the bottom picture travelled the length of the Siberian Railroad, eventually passing from the Bolsheviks, to the Chinese Nationalists, and then the Japanese.
